Origin of The Ginger Bread House
According to Mommadog the first Ginger Bread House was made in Germany when Brothers Grimm, who was a childrens story writer, made this tasty house popular in his Fairy Tale Hansel and Gretel. Ginger bread itself, the main building material in the construction of the GBH, can be traced back to the ancient Greeks and Egyptians who used it for ceremonial purposes. I have no idea what type of ceremonies those Greeks had but I do know what the Gingerbread Man puts on his bed, no not crumbs, cookie sheets. By the 19th Century the Settlers from Northern Europe brought this tradition to the New World. Share the fun and joy of building a Gingerbread House this Season.
Smiles Are Growing
Elf Jean is still on her Smile Mission. As you can see the smiles are growing around the Country, one at a time each day and plans are under way to go global and just see how far a smile can go. Start today, Give a smile a day away to a stranger, doesn’t have to be on a stick. A real, great, big, wild and crazy smile has more magic then you realize. A smile actually stimulates the thymus gland and fires it up to zap foreign cells, desease, and infections. The thymus gland is one of the first organs to be impacted by stress, so Smile, Smile, Smile. If you really want to go out on a limb (see picture) stretch it into “Laughter”.

Santa is Not Moving
There is a rumor that Santa was moving from the North Pole due to the recent concern over the current Global Climate Change challanges. Santa said, in an interview with Joe Freeze of the Daily Polar News, “With the current growing efforts of folks around the world to save the earth, I have decided to keep kool and make the rounds as I have for many, many years. Let’s all work together and make this a loving, healthy, peaceful planet”.

Santa Believes In Flying Saucers
Santa took this picture of a flying saucer while cruising in the Spring near Mars Pa. If you look real close you may see a few Peeps hanging out on this saucer. We all believed that aliens were green but as you can see these aliens are yellow. The message was one of Peace however they did make a request and that is that we all are to be like Santa and love all people. Santa does…….. Peace
The Magic Of Hats
Just by putting a simple hat on can change you whole attitude and make someones day. Nothing like a good hat story: Here is one from those wonderful wise women from the Red Hat Society. ” Do you know what would have happened if it would have been three wise women rather then three wise men??? They would have asked directions, arrived on time, helped deliver the baby, cleaned the stable, had a casserole, and brought practical gifts. ” Thank You Ladies, you are great. Did You Know ?
Rudolf was created by Bob May in 1939 for an ad campaign for Montgomery Wards. Who was Montgomery Wards? They were a large Mail Order Catalog Compay similar to Sears. In my younger days we put them in the outhouse and the soft pages in the back of the catalogs was used for toilet paper. Are you Kidding??? No ask any old Western PA farmer. You can’t be that old! Just ask my Elves. Thought for the day: Be Thankful for indoor Toilets!!
